Pain Management

Pain Management is a medical specialty that treats all types of pain, including musculoskeletal, spinal, and neuropathic pain disorders.
What does a Pain Management Specialist treat?
With an accurate diagnosis, a pain management specialist will develop a treatment plan that fits the patient's needs. This treatment plan is designed to relieve or manage pain and help patients return to their everyday activities.

Treatment
Depending on your diagnosis, your pain management specialist may offer interventional treatment, such as injections or spinal cord stimulations, physical therapy to increase the range of motion and strength, or the doctor may refer you to a surgeon if indicated by diagnostic testing and evaluation. Alternative medicine may be provided as a complement to your other treatments.

Should you see a doctor?
Most pain management specialists are seen by a referral from another physician. You should seek a pain management specialist if you are experiencing any type of pain for a long period of time.
